Around 858 civilians including 259 children and women have been killed and 6879 injured on 100-day battles between the Houthi militants and pro-government forces in Yemen's port city of Aden, director of the provincial healthcare office Al-Khadir Lasour said on Friday.
The war which the Houthi militants waged on Aden has also led to spread of diseases which have so far killed 256 people, he said, while affirming that around 6214 people have been affected by diseases amid the absence and deterioration of healthcare services.
The war has forced the shutdown of the largest hospitals and medical centers in Aden, he said.
The Houthi militants have been fighting pro-government forces since they ousted the UN-backed government.
The situation triggered a Saudi-led military intervention against the militants which has boosted the suffering of the Yemeni people.
