The Yemeni government decided to include the popular resistance fighters in the national forces, the official Saba agency reported on Tuesday.
The decision was made at the meeting of the national defense council which was chaired by president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi in Riyadh.
The government has been staying in and acting from the Saudi capital for months.
The meeting urged the forces and the resistance to comb and clean Aden up from all Houthis and dissident forces backing them in order to pave the way for the return of the government and then restarting public offices, according to Saba.
The resistance has been supporting the forces since the government was ousted by the Houthi militants early in 2015.
Locally, the battles between the forces and the Houthi militants are continuing in several cities including those adjacent to Aden.
With support from the Saudi-led coalition, the forces drove the Houthis from Aden more than a week ago.
A lot of relief aid has arrived in the city but aid organizations can't deliver it to affected people due to the persistent conflict.
The five-day truce the third announced since the coalition launched the bombing campaign against the Houthis still could not take a hold on its second day.
According to the government and agencies, the months-long armed conflict has left 80% of Yemen's population in need of emergency aid.
