President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi met on Tuesday with US, French and Russian ambassadors to Yemen.
The meetings in Riyadh discussed the developments in the country where the pro-government forces with support from the Saudi-led coalition are escalating the offensive against the Houthi militants.
Hadi and the government have been staying in and acting from Riyadh for months.
Locally, the Yemeni forces and troops from the coalition waged fierce battles against the militants in the western parts of Marib a day after the latter retreated from key positions amid the lately escalated offensive, military sources said.
The Yemeni and coalition troops are surrounding the militants and dissident forces backing them as part of a strategy to establish a military zone in Marib, the adjacent province of Marib and the capital Sanaa, the sources said.
In the past 24 hours, fighter jets from the coalition have intensified airstrikes against Houthi positions and roads between the three provinces where reinforcements are passing.
Moreover, jets struck today highways linking Sanaa with western and northern cities in what appears to be a plan to besiege the capital as a prelude to invade and retake it from the militants.
In recent weeks, thousands of troops and hundreds of heavy equipment have been deployed in support of the Yemeni forces for the battles to retake Marib and Sanaa.
In Taiz, the battles between the government forces and the Houthis resumed as locals said the militants continued to shell populated areas with rockets.
Dozens of fighters mostly Houthis were killed in overnight and Tuesday battles in Taiz, the sources added.
Battles and Arab airstrikes were also reported in the provinces of Baidha and Ibb.
