The Houthi militant group, also known as the Ansarullah, vowed on Sunday to escalate its military action in response to continuous bombings by the Arab military coalition.
In a statement, head of the group's political bureau, Saleh Al-Sammad, said the coming days will see further painful strikes against the coalition in retaliation for months of aggression and a blockade on all ports.
The Saudi-led coalition of nine countries including Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Sudan has been bombing the Houthi militants since March.
The intervention receiving support from the US, EU and some Islamic countries such as Turkey was made after civil war expanded in Yemen following the ouster of the government by the Houthis.
"It is a promise to our people that if the coalition destroys, we will destroy and if they kill, we will kill," he said, stressing that their response will be stronger this time. "And if their troops and mercenaries defile one inch of our land, heroes in our army will infiltrate deep into Saudi lands to clean them from evil of Al Saud," he added.
Al-Sammad's statement came days after blows the Houthis received during the battles in the provinces of Taiz and Marib.
In recent days, the Yemeni forces with support from the coalition regained control of the Bab Al-Mandab strait in Taiz and key areas in Marib.
Scores of Houthis were killed in the battles. Al-Sammad said that retaking the strait came within a bid to bring more countries into Yemen.
Today, the coalition resumed airstrikes against Houthi forces and weapons in several cities including the capital Sanaa, Taiz and Marib.
