Saudi-led airstrikes are shaking Yemen's capital city of Sanaa which has lately come under the heaviest bombardment since the Arab military operation was launched in late March.
Residents in western and northern parts including the Attan area which has been repeatedly struck for months said they are hearing huge explosions shaking houses terribly.
Many families have went down to basements amid fears their houses may be affected or targeted by misdirected airstrikes.
Hisham Al-Omeisy, a resident in Attan, tweeted that he had taken his kids to the basement and given them iPads and headphones to play and forget about explosions.
Fighter jets are also striking southern and eastern parts.
The strikes coincided with reports the Yemeni forces backed by the Arab coalition have beaten the Houthi militants in the province of Marib.
Reports said the forces will go ahead to retake Sanaa immediately after driving the militants out of Marib.
Today, the coalition carried out airstrikes against the Houthis in other cities including Taiz where battles are raging.
Local sources said the forces backed by the coalition are battling the Houthis around the port town of Makha and the district of Al-Waziyah.
Early Sunday, the Houthi militant group vowed a painful response to the unabated airstrikes and blockade on all Yemeni ports as well as latest escalation in Taiz.
