Yemen's representative to the United Nations Security Council, Khalid Al-Yamani, revealed that the UN is poised to freeze more assets of former president, Saleh, after UN member states submitted information abut that.
In a statement to the Saba news agency, the official version, he also revealed that international experts have found out involvement of Saleh in money laundering through global mafias.
Early this year, the Security Council extended sanctions against former president, his aides including son Ahmed and Houthi leaders.
The sanctions were approved last year on grounds these figures were undermining the political transition.
At the council's meeting on Friday, the UN envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh put the spotlight on the humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen especially the province of Taiz.
Millions of people have been facing harsh conditions due to shelling and siege around Taiz by the Houthi militants.
Cheikh said targeting civilians and depriving them from food and medicines are war crimes and huge violations that require international action.
The several-months conflict has left 80% of Yemen's population in need of emergency aid.
A blockade on all sea, land and air routes which was part of the Saudi-led military intervention has affected all imports and exports leaving the country without supplies.
In addition, WHO has reiterated warning that Yemen is facing outbreaks amid the lack of drinking water and deteriorating healthcare system.
