The Yemeni government has already started including popular resistance fighters in the army, the official Saba news agency reported on Friday.
A statement by the government said the authorities in the temporary capital, the southern port city of Aden, are receiving resistance fighters and training them at two camps.
The process is continuing gradually and in accordance with the national defense regulations, it said, pointing out that the fighters will join the 4th military command after they finish the necessary training.
The 4th command have brigades in the provinces of Aden, Lahj, Abyan, Dhali and Taiz.
Lately, president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi ordered to include the popular resistance fighters within the national forces.
The order was given after the national forces with support from the resistance and the Saudi-led coalition drove the Houthi militants out of southern regions.
The popular resistance has been playing a key role in backing the legitimacy of the government fighting alongside the national forces in all provinces.
In the meanwhile, the battles between the pro-government forces and the Houthi militants continued Friday in several provinces including southern Dhali and Shabwa.
The battles coincided with fresh airstrikes by the Arab military coalition in some cities including the capital Sanaa.
