The GCC member states on Thursday called for an inter batons conference on rebuilding Yemen after the Yemeni factions reach a political solution to the right-months armed conflict.
At the end of their two-day summit in Riyadh, they also affirmed that they are committed to providing support in order to rehabilitate Yemen's economy as a prelude to include it in the Gulf economies.
Moreover, they renewed their pledge to help the Yemeni authorities restore security and stability.
Days ago, the UN envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh said the government and the Houthi group along with other parties agreed to participate in UN-brokered talks in Geneva.
The talks will kick off on December 15th and seek to establish a durable peace solution and plan to resume the political process and implement the United Nations Security Council's resolutions especially the resolution 2216, Cheikh said.
In the meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition said today it took over the larger Hunaish Island on the Red Sea from the Houthi militants.
It said the island was controlled by forces loyal to the former president and used as a hub for storing and smuggling weapons for the militants.
In March, the coalition launched a military operation against the militants who ousted the UN-backed government in late 2014.
It has since been striking the militants and backing the pro-government forces in most of Yemen's provinces.
